FAQs

If I have Under Floor Heating what flooring should I use?

Wooden flooring is the best material and choice for UFH as it is natural, warm to the touch (not like slate) and environmentally friendly as it is renewable.

Engineered flooring is needed if you have UFH as this is much more stable under extreme heat conditions. All out engineered products are suitable for UFH. Carpets are an insulating material and are not as effective. Rugs are also not recommended over UFH. There are two main fitting methods. One is floating a floor with a underlay with a low tog rating and the other is gluing the wood direct to the screed.

Do you take returns of unopened goods?

We only take returns if the floor or product is still in the correct and unopened packaging with no damages within one week of proof of purchase. Before fitting please make sure you have the correct floor. Once the floor is installed we cannot take any responsibility for a fitted floor. There is normally a 15% handling charge on some products.

Can you help me out with fitting my floor, tiles or bathroom?

Yes no problem at all. We provide free call outs where we come to you showing you products and measuring the area required. In many instances customers don't actually need to visit our premises. The fitters we recommend are highly skilled with many years experience.

What is the payment process?

We ask for a 25% deposit before installation of any bathroom or fitted floor. Once the job is completed and you are satisfied payment is required within 24 hours. We accept cash, cheque and all major credit and debit cards.

Do you have a delivery service?

Deliveries which are not local will be charged at our discretion. Delivery charges will be based on the value of the order and the distance they are to be delivered. We can arrange transport to anywhere in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

How do i care for my new floor?

Use felt pad protectors for chairs and dinning tables. Don't use a pointed hoover. Never use a wet mop, only damp. Have a door mat at the front and back doors.

Try to keep your house at a steady humidity level throughout the year if you have solidwood. Solidwood products can react badly to changes in humidity levels. All cleaning products and felt protectors can be bought at choice flooring.

Are real wood samples in your showroom what i should expect to get?

Hardwood flooring has many limitations due to the natural characteristics of wood. Samples on display may change with knot variation over time when new batches of wood arrive.

Is there warranty on your products?

There is a twelve month warranty on all fitting of bathrooms, tiles and floors. All sub floors must be correct before fitting as this can lead to problems at a later date.

Warranty does not cover excess moisture damage and scratches.

If the fitting, preparation or acclimatisation instructions are not adhered to the warranty will be lost.

NB - Expansion and contraction of wood from moisture and temperature fluctuation can cause shrinkage and expansion of some solidwood floors.
